Bruce and Carol Malnor delight in animals of all shapes and sizes. Birds, deer, and raccoons are regular visitors to their home in the foothills of the Sierra Nevadas. On a recent trip to Panama they joined Jane Goodall in the rainforest where they were introduced to howler monkeys, toucans, and capybara. Bruce and Carol were educators for over 20 years.
Bruce Malnor’s father and grandparents taught him to explore the woods, lakes, and rivers of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. In turn, when he was a classroom teacher, Bruce shared his love of the outdoors with his students by taking them hiking and camping. Bruce co-authored with his wife Carol Earth Heroes: Champions of the Wilderness and Earth Heroes: Champions of Wild Animals. They also created the beautiful Nature Portals Cards, featuring Bruce’s nature photography. Bruce and Carol have also co-authored several Dawn teacher’s guides.
