The rivers, lakes and wetlands of northern Minnesota and Ontario were the place that James Kasperson realized his love for the earth. Throughout his life this love has grown, especially during the years he has lived on the shore of the great lake, Superior. He is an ordained minister in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. He has served in rural congregations and outdoor ministries in northern Minnesota ,Wisconsin and Alaska. In that time he has gathered stories from the lives he has encountered, and the land upon which he has traveled. In his first book, More Teaching Kids to Love the Earth, published by Pfeifer-Hamilton in 1994, he shared stories of being in relationship with the earth. Little Brother Moose is his first children’s book. He is a musician, poet and storyteller. He uses these talents in leading environmental and spiritual workshops for families, teachers and children throughout the Upper Midwest.
