After their long journey along Wild America’s Shores, the BLUES have returned to the Interactive Clubhouse with souvenirs! In their second journey, the BLUES traveled along the American coastline in honor of Roger Tory Peterson’s classic bird watching expedition. Along their trip they discovered a bird who can carry 10 or more fish in its beak at once, a bird who spends most of its life soaring over the ocean, and another bird who has special air sacs under its skin to cushion the impact from plunge-diving for food. Now, relaxing back at the clubhouse, the BLUES have put together some exciting materials to enhance the journey chronicled in The BLUES Go Birding At Wild Americas’ Shores.
Join Sammy as she shares her photo scrapbook–full of actual photographs of the birds depicted in the BLUES by illustrator Louise Schroeder. Bing shares his collection of range maps and hopes that you can find some of these amazing birds in your neighborhood. Eggbert talks about famous birder Roger Tory Peterson and shares coloring pages to help encourage budding birders. Sammi has added new activities by Master Teacher and author Carol Malnor. And Uno, after months of searching, has finally captured the sound of Loon song and added it to his album. Be sure to listen to the eerie sounds of loon song echoing across the lake. It’s perfect for Halloween birding!
